NYB donated 10 welding jackets ranging in sizes from medium to XXXL to the La Porte County Career & Tech Education Center for their welding shop class of 2019. The course, taught by Raymond Goss, focuses on the welding, cutting, and fabrication of metal products to prepare students for a career in welding related fields.  Students learn the basics of Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) as well as Oxy-Acetylene cutting. They also have a small CNC plasma cutting table that the student learn how to program and operate. The class curriculum begins with the first few weeks of classroom work covering basic welding knowledge and safety, with the remainder of the year focusing on hands-on shop time.
